Grapes
Moroccan grapes, whether green, red or black, are renowned for their taste quality, attractive appearance and good keeping qualities. Grown in regions with a hot, dry climate and thermal amplitudes conducive to slow ripening, they are highly sought-after on international markets. Thanks to modern agricultural techniques and mastered logistics, Morocco exports several thousand tons of table grapes to Europe, the Middle East and Africa every year.
Main growing regions
Table grapes are produced in several wine-growing areas of Morocco, known for the quality of their soil and sunshine:
Benslimane - Settat: pioneering region with high yields.
Doukkala - El Jadida: favorable to early production.
Marrakech - Tensift: excellent sun exposure, high caliber.
Berkane - Saïss: very sweet grapes, suitable for the fresh market.
Dakhla (greenhouse test): potential for pre-season cultivation.
Harvesting generally takes place from June to September, depending on the variety.
