    White turnips

Moroccan white turnips are prized for their crunchy flesh, mild, slightly peppery flavor and beautiful natural presentation. Used in traditional cooking and processing, they are a much sought-after staple vegetable on markets in Africa, the Middle East and Europe. Thanks to a favorable climate and high-performance farming techniques, Morocco offers stable volumes of white turnips ready for export.

    Main growing regions

The white turnip is grown in areas with loose, cool, well-watered soil, favouring good root development:

    • Gharb - Kenitra: mass production, very good quality.

    • Doukkala - El Jadida: fine, even texture, great regularity.

    • Fès - Meknès: seasonal harvest, good dry matter content.

    • Souss-Massa: winter cultivation under cover, guaranteed earliness.

    • Marrakech - Haouz: additional production at the end of the season.

Harvest: from November to Aprildepending on the zone.
