    Red Potatoes

    Moroccan red potatoes are renowned for their fine, colorful skin, firm flesh and excellent cooking properties. They are particularly well suited to the fresh produce, catering and food processing markets. Thanks to well-suited terroirs and a well-positioned season, Morocco offers large volumes of red potatoes for export every year.

    Main growing regions

    Red potatoes are grown in specialized agricultural regions with light, well-drained soils:

    • Doukkala - El Jadida: main production area, good yield.

    • Gharb - Kenitra: sandy soil, homogeneous sizes.

    • Tadla - Béni Mellal: winter crop, sweet flesh.

    • Marrakech - Haouz: ideal conditions for off-season crops.

    • Souss-Massa: short cycle, strong local and export demand.

    Harvest: from February to Junewith extended storage possible until August.

    The potatoes are harvested at commercial maturity, sorted, graded and packaged at approved packing stations.
