    Beans

Moroccan beans are renowned for their nutritional richness, tender texture and subtle taste. Consumed fresh or as dried beans, they are in great demand in traditional cooking, as well as in the agri-food industry. Thanks to well-controlled cultivation and a suitable climate, Morocco produces large volumes of beans every year, for export to Europe, West Africa and the Middle East.

    Main growing regions

Beans are grown in regions with a mild climate, good humidity and well-drained soils:

    • Doukkala - El Jadida: high-yield orchards, early production.

    • Gharb - Kenitra: high crop density, homogeneous size.

    • Tadla - Béni Mellal: good harvest duration and stable volume.

    • Fès - Taounate: traditional production, highly appreciated on fresh markets.

    • Marrakech - Haouz: seasonal harvest with good dry matter content.

Harvest: from January to Aprildepending on variety and zone.
