    Pumpkin

The Moroccan pumpkin, with its orange flesh, slightly sweet flavor and high fiber and beta-carotene content, is a must-have vegetable for both home cooking and industry. Its shelf life of several months, ease of processing and visual appeal make it a product in great demand on international markets. Morocco offers regular seasonal production, with sizes to suit all destinations.

    Main growing regions

Pumpkin growing is well developed in Morocco's agricultural regions, which have large plots of land and plenty of sunshine:

    • Doukkala - El Jadida: large-calibre production, uniform color.

    • Gharb - Kenitra: high yield, medium size, easy export.

    • Tadla - Béni Mellal: terroir suited to long storage.

    • Marrakech - Haouz: shoulder season, harvest in May-June.
